Haircuts for Long Hair That Require Little Work

    Long Layers

    • Long layers are classic and they can work on wavy as well as thin hair. If you have wavy hair, you can use some styling products, such as pommade and mousse, to get your desired look with volume and texture. If you have thin hair, just use bobby pins to pull back the front layers and create a beach-friendly hairdo. Blunt or swide-swept bangs can complement long layers.

    Long Shag

    • A long shag can work well if you're comfortable with an asymmetrical style, and this look is best if you have a very individual style, i.e., don't mind standing out. Long shags can have thin bangs as well as short, blunt bangs. Some straightening with a straightening iron may be required if your hair gets very voluminous. Long shags can be very flattering and showcase your artistic side.

    One Length

    • One length long hairstyles can work well with hair of any texture. Thin hair worn in a one length style can look very fashionable in a sleek ponytail, or you can wear your hair in a half ponytail if you have wavy hair. Long one length hair is wonderful for up-do hairstyles such as buns and French twists, and adding a sparkly hairpiece can make a quick hairstyle look fancy.

Long Hair In Front, Shorter In Back

    • While a reverse mullet sounds a bit unappealing and brings up images of Kate Gosselin's short, spiky hairdo, some women have successfully pulled off a hairstyle that features longer hair in the front and shorter in the back. Go as short as you feel comfortable with in the back. The short part of your hair can be below your shoulders to maintain an interesting and dynamic look. A little straightening and some shine gel can really give this look an edgy attitude.
