Nice Resorts in the South West of WA
There is nothing better than heading off for the weekend (or longer) to a nice resort near the beach.
Fortunately for WA, most of the major towns and cities are located along the coast.
What this means is that regardless of where you go, you have the opportunity to find a resort that is absolutely magnificent.
In terms of a location not too far from Perth, two resorts spring to mind.
The first is located in Bunker Bay, just west of Dunsborough, and the second is Smiths Beach (about 30km south of Bunker Bay!).
Both beaches are quite small, and limited to the resort as accommodation and a few private houses or apartments that can be rented out.
What this means is that you have a certain level of privacy that the bigger beaches simply can't offer.
Of course, you will still get people going to Bunker Bay and Smiths beach for the day (because they are amazing locations to visit) but the number of people staying there each night is severely limited.
The cost of the accommodation also limits a lot of people (as both areas are quite expensive; due to their location and what they offer!).
Both of these locations offer restaurants where you can eat and watch the sun go down over the water, spectacular fishing, snorkelling, and fishing, sun baking and relaxing on the beach.
They are probably two of the best beaches in the South West, which is great news for the tourists! I really can't recommend both locations anymore; they are stunning!
