How Do I Replace a 110.68702485 Kenmore Dryer Belt?

    • 1). Turn off your Kenmore and disengage power flowing in, either by turning off the proper switch in your fuse box or merely unplugging it. Utilize a Phillips-head screwdriver to take out the screws holding the lint trap in place and remove it.

    • 2). Unfasten the door harness latch. Using a Phillip-head screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the front panel of your Kenmore. Manually remove the front panel.

    • 3). Remove the broken dryer belt by pulling it away from the drum. Direct the belt around the idler and peel it away from the notches in the front engine pulley, then remove the remaining portion from the rear engine pulley. Make note of the removal order, as you will install the new belt in reverse.

    • 4). Lodge a small wooden block under the tumbler to lock it in place as you affix the replacement belt. Install the new belt around the notches in the rear motor pulley and then attach it to the front engine pulley. Route the final, remaining section of the replacement dryer belt around the idler and install it around the drum.

    • 5). Reinstall the front panel. Reach within the dryer and manually rotate the drum one full, counterclockwise revolution to align the replacement belt. Lock the door harness latch. Refasten the lint trap. Reestablish electrical current to your Kenmore and test for proper operation.
