The Most Common Causes of Stress

What are the main causes of stress? Well, there are hundreds if not thousands of reasons why people get stressed.
These vary from person to person.
What triggers stress in one may not cause even the least inconvenience to another.
However, there are those causes that are very common among stress sufferers.
Triggers that cause stress in people more often than the others.
Here are some of the most common causes of stress: 1) Death of a loved one like a spouse, a member of the family, a close relative or a good friend.
2) Health related issues which include having been into an accident, getting injured, going through an illness or disease and even pregnancy.
These doesn't have to happen to you for them to cause you stress.
A family member or a friend going though any of these issues can cause you stress.
3) Having been the victim of a crime.
This is one of the worst causes of stress.
It's often very hard to deal with stress that develops as a consequence of a crime.
The crime committed could be sexual molestation, robbery, burglary, mugging, or pick pocketing.
4) Sometimes we cause stress upon ourselves.
The best example of this is self-abuse which includes alcohol abuse, drug abuse, nicotine abuse or simply self-harm.
5) Changes in the structure of your family.
This could be the arrival of a new baby, divorce of parents, separation with your spouse, your own marriage, a son or a daughter getting married, or a parent moving in with you.
6) Sexual issues.
This may involve problems with regard to finding a partner or problems with a current partner.
It could also be sexual problems with a girlfriend or a boyfriend.
7) Arguments or spats with other people like your co-workers, friends, family, relatives, or spouse.
8) Lifestyle changes.
These are changes to the things that you normally do on a daily basis.
For instance, at your current job, a change in your working hours can easily trigger stress.
A change in sleeping patterns or simply a lack of sleep also causes much stress.
9) Moving house into a completely new location.
This is a very common cause of stress most especially to the children who have to go through a lot in adapting to the new environment.
10) Financial problems.
These could be not having enough money, being buried in debt or investing money in a risky business opportunity.
11) The demands of a job.
It's no secret that most people get stressed because of work-related problems.
This may be due to bullying, discrimination, long working hours, boring or mundane work, uncomfortable workplace, lack of training, dissatisfaction with the salary, or a high staff turnover thus causing fear of being cut from the job.
There are of course a lot more other causes of stress but the above are the most common.
Dealing with stress requires that you have an understanding first and foremost of the things that causes it.
This way you know where to start in addressing it.
