How to Remove Price Tag Adhesive Left on Clothing

    • 1). Place a few drops of dish soap directly onto the adhesive. Work the soap into the adhesive with your fingers for a few minutes to loosen it. Scrub the area with an old toothbrush to further soften the adhesive.

    • 2). Drizzle liquid laundry detergent onto the affected area of the clothing. Let it sit for five minutes, then wash the clothing as usual. Inspect the clothing after washing and before placing it in the dryer. Do not dry the clothing until you are sure that all of the adhesive is gone.

    • 3). Saturate the area with rubbing alcohol or household lubricating spray if the adhesive is still there after washing. Work the alcohol or lubricating spray into the fabric with your fingers, then scrub with an old toothbrush. Drizzle laundry detergent over the area, let it sit for five minutes and wash as usual.
