How to Lubricate a Furnace Fan Motor
- 1). Turn off your furnace and allow it to cool.
- 2). Open the maintenance hatch on the furnace. Unscrew the screws that hold the hatch in place and remove it to access the fan motor.
- 3). Locate the fan motor inside the furnace. It will have its own case. Locate oil ports in the fan motor. The oil ports are small holes for oil to drip into.
- 4). Add 1 to 2 drops of oil into each oil port.
- 5). Close the furnace service hatch and replace the screws.
