How to Decorate a Sweet 16 Party
- 1). At least one month ahead of time, start picking up the items needed for decorating. Large items including banners, hangings, table coverings and lights can be purchased at chain stores, but you'll want at least 4 to 6 weeks' headway ordering any customized items (particularly those featuring the birthday girl's name). Verify with the event coordinator (if there is one) which decorations are your responsibility and which will be provided by the venue.
- 2). Order floral arrangements at least 14 to 28 days ahead of time. Contact the florist for any custom requests. Girls enjoy flowers, which make them feel pretty. If you're looking for hothouse flowers in winter, the lead time will make sure your floral arrangements are memorable.
- 3). Make a checklist for decorating the venue; one week ahead of time, go over that list in full. Draft family members who will be helping you decorate, or the event coordinator at the designated venue. Go over final decoration plans. Make notes of any last-minute changes.
