Home pedicures provide a fun, inexpensive way to relax and pamper ourselves. You can create whatever design you want on your toenails, allowing you to express your personal style. With the right tools, giving yourself or someone you know a home pedicure can take just minutes, but make sure to thoroughly disinfect all tools after each use. - Toe dividers help when giving yourself a home pedicure. Toes tends to accidentally touch each other when your foot is relaxed. If your toenails are wet with polish, this can smudge and ruin part of the pedicure. Toe dividers work by separating your toes with foam spacers, preventing them from accidentally touching each other until after the nail polish dries completely.
- If you do not have a nail brush, you can use a sterilzed toothbrush instead.b??rste image by Ewe Degiampietro from Fotolia.com
A nail brush cleans dirt and debris from under the nail. Toenails tend to collect a lot of germ-filled, grubby dirt. Thoroughly cleaning under your toenails before polishing them will help prevent toe fungus infections. - Always rinse a foot file with warm water and allow it to air dry after use.pedicure image by Yekaterina Choupova from Fotolia.com
A foot file will help soften the rough, dry skin on the heels and balls of your feet. A foot file works kind of like sandpaper and files down hardened areas of skin, as well as calluses. Do not file your feet too forcefully because this can cause skin abrasions that may lead to infections. - Always file in one direction instead of sawing back and forth to maintain the strength of the nail.making pedicure image by NiDerLander from Fotolia.com
The nail file, or emery board, can file down any ragged, rough edges on your toenails, or shape them if necessary. - Sometimes the surface of the nail becomes rough, ridged and dull. When rubbed lightly over the nail surface, buffers gently rub away these rough ridges and make your toenails appear smoother and shinier.
- It is best to use toenail clippers instead of fingernail clippers.adult and child nail clippers image by green308 from Fotolia.com
Toenail clippers can trim the length of the nail in one easy snip. Large clippers work best on toenails, whereas smaller clippers work well on fingernails. Always cut straight across the nail to avoid ingrown toenails. - Experiment with bright colors on your feet.Nail polish image by Alexandra Stukkey from Fotolia.com
Polish will add a great finish to your pedicure. You can choose clear and sheer shades for a more subtle, natural look, or go crazy and try brighter shades. - Choose a moisturizing formula with mint extracts for relaxation.produits de beaut?? image by laurent hamels from Fotolia.com
Whether or not you have hardened, callused heels, or you use a foot file to soften them, apply foot lotion to moisturize the skin on your feet.
