How to Hang Lights Over a Table
- 1). Move the table out of the way and place the step ladder where the table belongs. Make a small hole in the ceiling with the drill, centered to where the table goes, just big enough for the wingnut hanger to go through. Push the hanger through the hole, and it will spread open, ready to hang your lamp on.
- 2). Move the step ladder to the closest wall or corner. Make another small hole with the drill in the ceiling. Put the second wingnut hanger through this hole. This one will hold the excess electrical cord so it can hang down the wall to the electrical outlet.
- 3). Assemble the swag lamp per the kit instructions. The electrical wire runs through a decorative chain on swag lamps. Hang the lamp by the chain in the hook above the table. Let it hang as high or low above the table as you wish.
- 4). Swag the chain and put it in the hook next to the wall. This will cause the electrical cord and chain to hang down the wall, taking it to the outlet. If the outlet is to one side, hook the swag lamp to a drop cord on the floor. Plug the drop cord into the outlet.
