People who have had formal training in the travel and hospitality industries stand a better chance of getting jobs, according to the Occupational Outlook Handbook. While there are no schools in Georgia that only teach people how to have careers in the travel industry, there are colleges that include travel and hospitality courses as part of their curriculum. One Georgia college even offers an online course on becoming a travel agent. - Located in Lawrenceville, Georgia, Gwinnett Technical College offers a certificate in travel-agency operations specialist. Students who complete the course can find employment as a travel agent, tour guide, or flight attendant or ticket agent with an airline. Students are required to take basic English and computer courses as well as travel-related courses, including travel-agency operations, travel geography, and tour management. These courses also apply to students who decide to continue work toward a degree in hospitality, tourism, or restaurant management.
