Learn How to Be a Beach Volleyball Player

Do you think you have what it takes to be a beach volleyball player?  Being a great player in the sand doesn't require any sort of indoor experience, in fact indoor habits will have to be broken.
If I'm good at indoor I will be good at beach volleyball, right? Nothing could be further from the truth.
If you are good at indoor that means most likely that you are used to playing one position and playing it very well.
You are also use to rotations and having 5 other people around you to help dig balls.
It's like teaching a golf swing to a baseball player, they have a harder time learning than a beginner because they have to break the habit of what they are use to.
What are the differences from indoor volleyball to beach volleyball? Besides the obvious differences of being in the sand and only having 2 people per team you also have a lot more responsibility.
You can't win games if the only thing you can is spike the ball hard.
Now it all depends on how well you can pass the ball before you get the chance to hit.
In fact passing is the only similarity between the 2 sports.
If you can pass you are going to do okay.
You can't have a weak point in your game because the opposing team will see it and capitalize on it to win every point.
If you can't pass you will get served every ball.
If you can't set then your partner will get served all day because they know you can't give him butter to hit.
In fact hitting the ball hard is the easiest thing to do and everyone can do it so it gives you no advantage.
