How to Get Rid of Flathead Moles for Free

    • 1). Find an active part of the tunnel that is fairly easy to access.

    • 2). Using your garden spade, dig down into the tunnel trying to leave as much of the area undisturbed as possible.

    • 3). Clean out the area with your hands and then dig another hole down under the base of the tunnel.

    • 4). Fit your pail in to the deeper hole that you've dug. Make sure that the pail is level with the floor of the tunnel.

    • 5). Place a small piece of wood (plywood works well) over two-thirds of the pail and then cover the wood with dirt so that it is less conspicuous.

    • 6). Wait for moles to fall in your trap. Check your trap every day or two for new moles.
