How to Make a Cowlick Lay Flat

    • 1). Switch your part. Part your hair off-center on the side closest to your cowlick, and brush your hair over it. This won't make your cowlick lay flat, but it can help disguise it.

    • 2). Use thick styling products like creams, pomades and waxes to hold your cowlick down. Apply a small dollop to your cowlick at the scalp, and work it in toward the roots in the direction you want your hair to be.

    • 3). Blow-dry your cowlick into submission. Starting with damp hair, take a small round brush to the root, and blow-dry your hair by pulling it straight up. Repeat this motion a few times, alternating the direction you pull your hair and the position of your blow dryer. Use a cool setting to prevent burning sensitive scalp skin.
