The Importance of Communicating With the Body in Energy Based Healing
I was first introduced to energy healing through a program called Healing Touch and then Reiki.
Later I took Pranic Healing.
In these modalities I depended upon my intuition to direct me in what to do and where to work first.
Many times a person would have what is called a "healing crisis.
" This is when the response to the energy session is what appears to be illness.
This was not a true illness in that it wasn't caused by a microbe or toxin.
It was the body coming into balance after the session.
The event still felt miserable even though the person usually felt better afterwards.
When introduced to the BodyTalk System, I found that healing crisis happened much less often.
In BodyTalk the practitioner uses what is called muscle testing or kinesiology to communicate with the innate wisdom of the body.
Instead of using intuition only to know what to do, the practitioner uses muscle testing to make changes in the order innate wisdom indicates in best.
This process reduces healing crisis because it strengthens parts of the body or systems in the body in the order that is most helpful.
My favorite analogy for this process is the children's game "Pick-up Stix.
" The object is to remove the "sticks" one-by-one without moving any of the ones below it.
Applying this to balancing the body...
Let's say you have a problem with your liver.
Instead of working with the liver directly, what is called innate wisdom which is accessed through muscle testing, says to go to Body Chemistry to balance for toxins.
Once that is done, the practitioner may be directed to another area and then another before finally getting to the liver.
By performing the balances in this particular order there is less chance of a healing crisis.
The body demonstrates every second that it has its own wisdom.
Every nano-second cells are dividing, the heart is beating and digestion is occurring.
So much is happening automatically and in perfect synchronicity that I doubt a super computer could keep up with all the processes happening at the same time.
Why not trust this wisdom which, in most cases, works beautifully? This wisdom knows what is out of sync in each and every organ, endocrine gland, body part and system.
It knows when organs are not communicating well with each other and simply need to be reminded to do so.
When using only intuition, as powerful as that is, the practitioner runs the risk of his or her own beliefs and desires getting in the way of what the body's wisdom knows is best.
That is the power of kinesiology.
