You Dumped Him For The Wrong Reason: Getting An Ex Back
Getting an ex back is hard if you were the one being dumped. But imagine how you would feel if you were the one who initiated did the dumping? That is the position that Marcy unwittingly found herself in and she had to go about getting an ex back.
Marcy\'s so-called friend, Rita, told her that her boyfriend Mark had been sleeping with another woman. Without stopping to verify this piece of news or ever asking him about it, Marcy confronted Mark and accused him of cheating on her. This took Mark by total surprise and because he had no clue that he was the subject of malicious gossip, he didn\'t do a good job of defending himself. Marcy unceremoniously dumped him.
A few days later, Marcy discovered that Rita had been lying for her own jealous, petty reasons. Now Marcy was in a pickle. Getting an ex back was really important to her, but she also wanted to save face. Marcy called up Mark and explained what had happened. But Mark was in not inclined to take her back. Marcy had hurt him by failing to trust him and by not even giving him the opportunity to talk the matter over.

She told him that the reason she acted the way she did was that she loved him and couldn\'t abide the thoughts of his being with another woman. The idea of losing him forever was agonizing. She knew she\'d get over it in time, but in her heart, she also knew that she was throwing away something that was good.
Prior to mailing the letter, she didn\'t bother him with repeated texts or emails. She surmised that getting an ex back after a situation like this one required that she give Mark plenty of space. When she did run into Mark, she was as pleasant as she could be. She worked positive memories into their conversation unobtrusively. She offered no further apology, however. She had told him both in person and in writing that she was sorry and left it there.
One day, Marcy bought two tickets for Mark\'s favorite jazz ensemble which was in town for one show only. She suggested Mark accompany her \"just as friends\". In this way, she left the door open to the possibility of a future relationship without exerting any pressure on Mark. Marcy new that the situation was going to be delicate for a while.
