How to Cook Wild Boar Roast
- 1). Pre-heat your oven to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 2). Make a glaze for the wild boar roast. Combine 2 tbsp. honey, 2 tbsp. soy sauce, 1/2 tsp. cumin, 1/2 tsp. dry mustard, 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper and 1 tbsp. vegetable or olive oil in a small mixing bowl. Stir well, then set the glaze aside while you prepare the wild boar roast.
- 3). Place the wild boar roast in a sturdy roasting pan. Use a pastry brush to coat the roast with the glaze.
- 4). Place the wild boar roast in the preheated oven, and roast the wild boar until the internal temperature of the meat reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Turn the roast every 30 minutes so the meat cooks evenly. If the meat appears dry, add a few teaspoons of water when you turn the roast.
- 5). Allow the wild boar to set for 10 minutes, then slice the meat as desired. Place the sliced meat on a serving platter.
- 6). Transfer the roasting pan to a burner turned on medium-low heat. Add enough water to loosen the glaze and meat drippings from the bottom of the pan. Skim the fat with a spoon, if necessary. Whisk the glaze until it thickens, and then drizzle the glaze over the sliced meat.
