- 1). Spray the metal canopy with a hose to remove the surface dust and dirt.
- 2). Mix 1/3 cup laundry detergent and 2/3 cup trisodium phosphate with 1 gallon of water in a bucket. Climb your ladder, and scrub the metal canopy with a brush and the solution. Rinse off the solution with water when the canopy is clean.
- 3). For mildew problems, mix 1/3 cup laundry detergent, 2/3 cup trisodium phosphate, 1 quart of 5-percent sodium hypochlorite, and 3 quarts water. Pour part of the mixture over the mildew, and scrub it with a brush until the canopy is clean. Rinse the canopy with clean water.
