- 1). Find two cardboard boxes of different sizes. The electronic device you want to protect should fit inside the smaller of the two boxes. Both boxes will need removable lids.
- 2). Cover the larger box with aluminum foil. Use tape to secure the foil to the box, the same way you would wrap a present. Wrap the lid separately.
- 3). Tape wire to the larger box for grounding purposes.
- 4). Cover the larger box with a plastic trash bag. If it's too large for one trash bag, you can tape several bags together to cover it. The purpose of this is to protect the foil from tearing.
- 5). Put an alligator clip on the opposite end of the grounding wire from the tape that you used to attach it to the box.
- 6). Place the item you want to protect inside the smaller box, and set it inside the larger one. Set the lid in place.
