How to Install Furniture Leg Levelers
- 1). Mark the center of the leg on which the leveler will be inserted. Push the brad point drill bit into the wood. Do this on all legs before installing the levelers.
- 2). Mount a 3/8-inch drill bit into a cordless drill. Measure 1 1/2 inch up from the end of the drill bit. Wrap a small piece of tape around the drill bit at this measurement. Leave the two ends of the tape sticking out like a flag. Drill a 1 1/2-inch-deep hole at the center location on each of the legs marked. Drill down until the tape brushes all of the wood dust away. This tells you that you have achieved the right depth.
- 3). Tap the threaded inserts that come with your levelers into the hole. Hammer down until the spikes are driven all the way into the wood. Screw the levelers into the threaded inserts. Turn the furniture over and set it upright. Turn the furniture levelers to move them up or down, depending on how each leg must be leveled.
