Someone He Won't Kill
Sayid goes to the Temple courtyard and picks up a backpack. Miles asks what he's doing and Sayid says he's leaving. "I've been banished."

"Banished? For what?"

"Apparently I'm evil. These people say I'm better off dead, which is surprising considering they were the ones who saved my life."

"Well, actually," Miles says, "they're not. They tried to save you, but you were dead, man, for two hours.

Trust me, when you sat up, they were just as surprised as the rest of us. So whatever brought you back, it wasn't them."

Claire comes into the courtyard with her arms up and men raise their guns to her.

"Stop, don't shoot her," the tall man says. "What are you doing here?" He asks her.

She walks up to Dogen and says, "He wants to see you."

He says something in Japanese. She tells him to speak English.

"Who wants to see me?" Dogen asks.

"You know who," she says.

"If he wants to see me, then tell him to come in."

"No, he wants you to see him. He's waiting outside beyond the outer wall."

"I'm not a fool. If I step outside this temple, he'll kill me."

"Then maybe you should send someone he won't kill."

She walks away. "Stop her!" Dogen says and two man grab her from either side.

In Japanese, Dogen tells the tall man, "Put the girl in the hole until this is resolved. Then bring Shephard and Reyes to my room immediately."

"Uh, that's going to be a little difficult. We can't find them."

In Japanese Dogen tells him to look harder.

"Come with me," Dogen tells Sayid.

"I thought you wanted me to leave."

"Things have changed."

Inside, Dogen says, "Your friends, Shephard and Reyes, do you know where they went?"

"No, I don't. Why is Claire here and what was she talking about?"

He takes a wooden box from the soil of a plant and brushes it off and then takes it to a table. "She's a confused girl, under the influence of an angry man."

"What man?"

"For years, he has been trapped, but now Jacob is gone, he's free. This man will not stop until he has destroyed every living thing on this island. He is evil incarnate."

"And you want me to speak to him."

"No." He pulls a long knife from the box. "I want you to kill him. He will come to you as someone you know. Someone who has died. As soon as you see him, plunge this deep into his chest. If you allow him to speak, it is already too late."

"Since I've been here, I've been drowned, beaten, and tortured at your hands. Why would I ever do anything for you?"

"You said that there is still good in your soul. Then prove it." He holds out the knife.

Mugging
Sayid walks the two kids across the street with their backpacks and lunch boxes. "How long can you stay, Uncle Sayid?" the boy asks.

"Just a few more days. I have to go to Toronto to work."

"We like it when you are here," the boy says.

"Yeah, and Mommy likes it, too," the girl says.

He kisses and hugs them and tells them to be good, and then helps them onto the school bus. As the bus drives away, Nadia comes out yelling for Sayid.

They go to the hospital, where Jack passes them in the background. A doctor tells Nadia that Omer is going into surgery and that he's suffered a punctured lung and some internal bleeding.

"Do you know how this happened?" Sayid asks.

"The EMTs think he was mugged. I'll come get you as soon as he's stable."

Sayid starts to leave and Nadia stops him. "Sayid, where are you going?"

"Stay here with Omer."

"This wasn't a mugging, was it? Whatever you are thinking of doing, don't do it. I don't want you to. Please, just go home. Wait for the kids. Make them feel safe, Sayid. Will you do that?.

He hugs her.

Where's Claire?
As Sayid walks through the jungle he hears, "Hello?"

Kate steps out. "Sayid?"

"Hello, Kate."

"Are you leaving?"

"I am not exactly sure."

"What'd I miss?"

"Ask Miles."

He walks away and she continues to the Temple. Miles seems surprised to see her. "Wow," he says.

"Nice to see you too, Miles."

"Sawyer sent you packing, huh?"

She looks at him and then takes a drink of water.

Miles says, "I thought about going after him, too. But, um, I knew he'd just end up berating me until I turned around and came back. Is that pretty much what happened?"

"Pretty much."

"Well, welcome back to the circus."

"What's going on in here?"

"Oh, that Australia chick is back."

"Wait. What?"

"Yeah, the blond, the one that had the baby."

"Claire?"

"Right, Claire. She just strolled in here a couple of hours ago acting all weird. Still hot, though."

Kate looks around. "Miles where is she?" He shakes his head. "Where is she?"
