My Advice on Quitting Smoking! Just Quit Smoking, Sounds Easier Said Then Done, Right!
Give me a break, if it was that easy the majority of us would toss the habit tomorrow.
I have written a few tips here to assist you in kicking the habit.
Lets replace the phrase, "I need to quit smoking", with "I am a non-smoker".
Get yourself a support person, someone who is going to support you through this tough transition of smoking to being a "Non Smoker".
This works believe me.
Make sure this person is 100% there for you, night and day.
Maybe a Smoker Anonymous Organization exists in your area.
Great place to start.
Get a sponsor on your entering the group.
When I quit smoking in the past, believe me the first three days are the toughest! If you can get over that hump, then job well done.
Or work your way up to that final day to quit.
Set a goal, that by this day I will be a non-smoker.
Gradually cutting back every day, one day at a time, as the saying goes.
Today I will only smoke 10 cigarettes; tomorrow I will only smoke 8 and so on and so forth.
Buy some candies to suck on.
This elevates some of the stress and anxious behavior brought on by leaving the habit.
Yes, you may gain a few pounds, but which is the worse of two evils.
Gaining a few pounds or gradually killing you.
Best way to avoid gaining weight is to exercise.
This is a great stress relieve in itself and you will feel a lot a whole lot better.
Get mad, what the heck are you talking about.
Get mad at the cigarette companies.
You are only making them rich and you eventually ill.
Don't put money in there pockets anymore.
You will eventually contribute to the bottom line of the hospitals too! Ah another lung cancer victim to profit off of!
