How to Shrink a Baseball Hat
- 1). Submerge your wool baseball cap in a bucket of hot water for 30 minutes. You can use your dishwasher to soak your hat in hot water, as well. After soaking your hat, blow dry it until you achieve the desired shrinking effect.
- 2). Wet your hat with hot or warm water and wear it. Fit your wet hat on an object similar to your head and let it dry -- like a soccer ball or bowl -- if you don't want to wear a moist hat.
- 3). Shower with your cap on and let the hat dry on your head. If you experience color seepage, wash the hat in cold water immediately and blow dry it. Position the hat on your head as you would normally wear it, to mold the cap as it dries.
- 4). Cut out the mesh in the inside of your hat and take out the board used to shape the cap. Be careful, however, because this method may lead to deformity, making the hat look old and tattered.
