How to Wear Rompers in the Fall

    Jackets

    • 1). Throw on a jacket. There are many jacket styles that will compliment a romper nicely, but not just any old coat will do. Pair short rompers with a puffy leather jacket, a fitted blazer or a loose cardigan.

    • 2). Choose the correct cover-up for the occasion. Leather jackets worn with rompers generally portray a daring, trendy look. Stay away from too many edgy biker accessories, though. The daring look is trendy because it is ironic against the feminine cut of a romper. Loose cardigans or shawls are appropriate for any casual daytime activity. Blazers can be either casual or professional, depending on the length of the romper and the quality of the jacket's material.

    • 3). Tie a thin belt around long cover-ups. This technique won't work with the jackets but will work nicely with cardigans and shawls to accentuate your waistline. Choose either a leather belt that complements your shoes or a bright belt to add a pop of color.

    Accessories

    • 1). Pair your romper with a pair of vintage combat boots, riding boots, ankle boots or stylish flats. All of these can work well with short rompers, but flats work best with jumpers. Stay away from heels altogether.

    • 2). Experiment with tights. Black tights can accompany a dressy romper for a sophisticated look. Choose other colors to add creative flair to a casual denim or floral romper. If you're feeling extra frisky, pick bright pink or red ones. Fishnets can also work for casual outfits, but keep in mind that they don't add much extra warmth in cool temperatures.

    • 3). Add a scarf. Choose a lightweight scarf for cool temperatures or a heavier one when it gets colder. Experiment with different scarf shapes, fabrics and sizes to find the perfect one to complement your outfit.
