Limited Government
Let's talk about Limited Government. I use "limited government" as a positive term here. Some uses of limited may mean that there is not enough, but in the case of state sovereignty, economic liberty, fiscal responsibility, educational choice, individual responsibility, and the national government search for a medium ground--limited government means more freedom and more voice of the people.
The Constitution sets up a limited government for the purpose of creating a government that is basically ruled and controlled by the voice of the people. Limited government is what makes a democracy. In man's search for unity and security it is obvious that having a government is important and necessary. Ensuring that the governing leaders feel individual responsibility and take individual responsibility for ensuring that they protect the people and create ways to protect the rights of the people is also important. This means limited government.
The limited government has some individual responsibilities in setting rules and regulations for the general health of the people. For example, educational choice to be a dentist or doctor exists with a limited government. The limited government doesn't require certain people to make educational choice that the government says. The educational choice of study and educational choice of profession is up to the people. However, to ensure that the people are protected from fraud and unqualified specialists in dental health and medical services, a limited government will set regulations and rules for those of that educational choice. Before a dentist or doctor, or any public services educational choice of career will have to prove to the limited government that they qualify for those educational choice careers. Often state sovereignty takes over in creating specific tests for their state licenses to practice. Once the individuals of that educational choice of career have shown their qualifications of educational choice of degree and have proven their knowledge levels are there and capable of practicing, then the state sovereignty provides a license to practice. This is limited government, protecting the people within a system that has economic liberty, fiscal responsibility, educational choice, and individual responsibility.
With limited government, the people have individual responsibility to stay informed about government officials who are running for office. Also there is individual responsibility to stay informed about political issues, issues that effect the public and to remind the state sovereignty or other parts of the limited government, that it is the voice of the people who approve or disapprove of laws and regulations passed. State sovereignty should be regulated and maintain its limited government qualities in order to maintain economic liberty and educational choice as well as keeping the people accountable for their individual responsibility to stay informed and active in their part of the limited government processes and limited government system.
