How to Clean the Metal Contacts on a Wireless Phone

    • 1). Unplug your phone's base. You should perform maintenance only on unplugged electrical or electronic equipment.

    • 2). Gently rub a white eraser directly across the contacts on the phone's handset and base. White erasers are mildly abrasive and will quickly remove any oxidation or dirt from the surface of the contacts. When the contacts are uniformly bright, they are clean.

    • 3). Use the brush to remove any small pieces of loose debris from the contacts left over from the cleaning process. Plug the phone's base into an outlet and place the handset in the base.
