- 1). Level the cornice over the window or door way where you plan to place it. If the cornice is not completely level to the top of the frame, draw a small mark along the bottom of the cornice.
- 2). Outline the cornice with a light line, using a pencil. This will identify where you will apply the polyurethane construction adhesive on the wall. This outline also will make leveling and installing the cornice much simpler.
- 3). Apply polyurethane construction adhesive to the outline area on the wall as well as the side of the cornice you will attach to the wall. Allow glue to set for five minutes before continuing.
- 4). Place the styrofoam cornice on the wall, lining up the outer edges with the outline you drew. Press firmly for one minute.
- 5). Drive one finish nail through each end of the cornice to bind it to the wall. This is not fully necessary, but it will allow you to avoid placing tape over the cornices to allow them to set.
