- 1). Detach the spigot from the iced tea jar. Wash and completely dry both the spigot and the jar.
- 2). Wrap the threads of the spigot with Teflon tape, then carefully reattach the spigot to the jar.
- 3). Apply food-grade silicone sealant to the inside of the jar around the ring of the spigot. Apply sealant around the ring on the outside as well. Take care not to overdo it and make a mess. Smooth out the sealant with your fingertip.
- 4). Place the jar in a safe place and let the sealant dry for 48 hours or as directed for your sealant. Fill the jar with water and test for leaks. Turn the spigot on and off to make sure it's still operating correctly.
