Not Properly Connected to Water Supply

• A Frigidaire refrigerator's water dispenser will not operate correctly if the appliance is not properly connected to your home's water supply. You must remove the plastic cap from the water valve inlet prior to connecting the copper or stainless steel tubing at the back of the refrigerator to the inlet valve. If you forget to remove the cap, water cannot reach the dispenser. In addition, because there are so many components that the water must pass through, you must prime the water supply system to ensure that the water dispenser operates correctly. Place a glass against the water dispenser paddle and hold it there until the dispenser provides water, which may take approximately one to two minutes. Allow the water to flow through the system for about four minutes to ensure that the system is primed and flushed for proper dispenser operation.
  
  

Closed Supply Valve

• When connecting your refrigerator to the water supply, you must close the water supply valve to prevent water from leaking all over your kitchen as you work. If you forget to open the valve once the refrigerator is connected, your water dispenser will not provide water. Check the supply valve and make sure that it is in the open position. If it has been closed for a prolonged period, you may have to prime the water supply system again.
  
  

Improperly Installed Filter

• Some Frigidaire refrigerators have a water filter that removes impurities from water provided through the dispenser. If the filter is not installed properly, the dispenser may not be able to dispense water. Locate the filter at the top of the fresh food compartment on the right side of the refrigerator and check to see if it is lined up with the alignment guide. Push on the filter to make sure it is snapped into place. You will hear a clicking sound when the filter is in the correct position.
  
  

Clogged Filter

• A Frigidaire refrigerator's water dispenser may not provide water if the system's water filter is dirty or clogged. Some models have a display panel that reminds you to change the filter after a certain amount of water has passed through the system. However, the filter may need to be replaced more frequently if there is heavy sediment in the water. Make sure that you order a replacement filter that is the right type for your model and follow the correct procedure for replacing it so it is properly installed.
