How to Build a Light Bulb Chandelier

    • 1). Hold up the hanging fruit basket and measure the distance between the two baskets. Cut 15 to 20 pieces of crochet thread equal to the distance between the two baskets. Put these pieces of crochet thread into one pile.

    • 2). Cut another 15 to 20 pieces of crochet thread measuring 14 inches long. Place these pieces of crochet thread into another pile.

    • 3). Pick up one piece of string from the first pile. Carefully tie the string around the base of one light bulb. Tie a strong knot in the string to help secure the light bulb in place. Repeat with the remaining strings and light bulbs. Be sure to keep the two piles separated.

    • 4). Pick up one tied light bulb from the first pile. Locate the center of the basket on the top of the hanging fruit basket. Thread the open end of the crochet thread through the bottom of the top tier of the fruit basket at the center point. Thread the end back down through an adjacent point in the basket. Tie in a knot to secure.

    • 5). Continue to add light bulbs to the top basket. Work from the center to the outer edge until all of the light bulbs from the first pile are added to the chandelier.

    • 6). Repeat the same process and tie more light bulbs to the bottom basket.

    • 7). Heat up the hot glue gun and glue stick. Further secure all the knots tied in previous steps by adding a small dot of hot glue to the knots.

    • 8). Screw an eye hook into the ceiling where you wish to hang the chandelier. Hang the chandelier from the hook. Fill the baskets with battery-operated candles. Turn on the candles to create a soft, romantic glow.
