How to Decorate Diamond Plates

    • 1). Use paint to decorate the diamond plate. Paint a mural across the entire surface of the diamond plate. The textured surface adds a distinctive element absent in a traditional wall mural. Use a durable high-gloss acrylic paint to compliment the shine. You could also paint a decorative pattern around the edges instead of covering the entire surface.

    • 2). Turn the diamond plate into an assemblage piece of art. Attach a variety of objects to the surface using urethane glue. This type of glue is recommended for attaching items made from differing materials and bonds securely. Place the objects at random or create differing patterns.

    • 3). Use the crafting technique known as decoupage to make a collage of pictures or decorative paper on the surface of the diamond plate. You can cover the entire surface or selectively attach pictures to different spots on the metal plate. Use decoupage glue to attach the pictures to the metal surface. Once the initial layer of glue is dry, apply another layer to seal it into place.

    • 4). Cover the diamond plate with stickers or magnets. Use it as a display for showing off your collection. Place them at random throughout the plate or line them up in an orderly fashion.
