- 1). Sweep the floor well with a broom and then fill a bucket with warm water.
- 2). Wet your mop in the bucket and wring it out. Start mopping the tiles with the water alone--often this is all that is necessary unless the tiles are very soiled. If the latter is the case, you can use ammonia.
- 3). Open a window in the room for ventilation. Add one capful of ammonia to the water to start. You shouldn't need to use very much ammonia--if mopping with this strength doesn't seem to be helping much, add another capful.
- 4). Rinse out your mop and go over the floor again with clean water to rinse it. When you are finished, let the floor air dry (or dry it with towels if you prefer).
