How to Assemble a Cabin Tent
- 1). Clear the area where you will be setting up your tent from all rocks, sticks and sharp or hard objects.
- 2). Unfold the cabin tent and lay it flat on the ground with the door facing the correct way for your campsite.
- 3). Stake down the tent. Locate the stake loops around the edges of the tent. Push a stake through a loop and hammer the stake into the ground on an angle. The part going into the ground should point toward the tent, this will ensure the stakes don't pull out. Work your way around the tent hammering the stakes through the loops and into the ground. Pull tent taunt before hammering each stake.
- 4). Unzip the cabin tent's door if it is zipped.
- 5). Assemble the roof poles. These might be shock-corded so they can be unfolded and pushed together. If they are not shock-corded, you will need to determine which poles go where according to your directions. Typically the poles will be numbered and will form a bit of an arc once the roof poles are pushed together.
- 6). Push the center roof pole into the center roof sleeve on the top of the tent. If there is a curve to the pole, make sure the curve is pointing downward. If your tent is equipped with loops instead of a sleeve, just pass the pole through the loops instead.
- 7). Push the two side roof poles into the side roof sleeves. If there is a curve to these poles, make sure the curve is pointing downward. If your tent is equipped with loops instead of sleeves, just push the poles through the loops instead.
- 8). Assemble the center adjustable poles. If the poles are shock-corded, they will unfold and push together. If they are not shock corded, determine which poles are the center poles and push them together. There is a possibility these poles may not be adjustable depending on the type of cabin tent you have.
- 9). Connect the center adjustable poles to the center roof poles and raise the center portion of the tent. Keep the poles adjusted to the shortest setting for now.
- 10
Connect the side poles. If shock-corded, unfold and snap together. If necessary, go by numbers on the poles to determine which poles are side poles and how they go together. - 11
Connect the side poles to the side roof poles. There will typically be a place to connect the side poles to at the base of the tent. If not, just push the side poles firmly onto the ground. These poles will be on an angle pointing toward the center of the tent. - 12
Adjust the center poles, if necessary. You want the cabin tent as taut as possible. Go around all the poles and make sure everything is stable and secure, re-adjust when needed. - 13
Place the rainfly over the top of the camping tent. Connect with provided attachments. There could be stretchy cords with hooks, hook and loop closures, clips or ties. - 14
Assemble the door pole, if your tent is equipped with one. Push into the correct sleeve and assemble the door. - 15
Attach the guylines by tying them onto the guyline loops located around the tent. These could be a few per side or possibly one at each corner. Pull the guylines outward and toward the ground. Stake the guylines about a foot or two from the floor of the tent. Occasionally there will not be specific guyline loops, in which case just tie the guyline to the side roof poles and tie down from there.
