How to Remove Latex Glue From Floorboards

    • 1). Create a ventilated workspace if the floorboards are indoors. Opening the windows in the room will help you avoid potentially hazardous fumes from chemical solvent.

    • 2). Pour hot water over the affected areas of the floorboards using a 1-to-2 gallon bucket. Allow it to soak the latex glue for at least 10 minutes.

    • 3). Apply the solvent properly by reading the directions on the product label. Follow the directions on waiting time for the adhesive to loosen.

    • 4). Scrape the adhesive with the scraper blade. Use only moderate pressure. Add more solvent if the adhesive in certain areas doesn't lift off as easily.

    • 5). Sweep the floor completely to remove any loose latex glue. Use a mild detergent to clean the floorboards for a thorough removal.
