Introduction to the P90X Routine, How To Achieve Extreme Fitness

Tony Horton, Master Trainer Master trainer and program developer Tony Horton will lead you through the various trainings that weave together a program that will take you from where you are to where you want to be.
Horton says, "do what you can.
" In fact the program is so intense that you probably won't be able to keep up with it.
But do what you can and soon you will be doing a lot more.
You will be doing things that you couldn't imagine before starting the program.
A Passion For Fitness You will need a passion for becoming fit.
The passion will keep you coming back everyday for your hour with Tony.
That's right, it is a daily hour long workout and you will come to love it.
Meeting Tony and the crew everyday to enable yourself to become the most fit you have ever been.
You will find that your passion for it builds with every workout.
From barely glowing embers to a blazing fire as you work through it.
Keep Track Of Your Progress You will want to keep track of your fitness level as you progress through the program.
It is important to measure and weigh yourself as well as checking your resting heart rate and blood pressure so you can get stoked as all of these numbers improve.
You will notice all sorts of changes to your health.
Many have also reported help with type 2 diabetes as the program kicks in.
This is due to your body becoming more efficient as well as the dietary enhancements that you will undertake as part of the program.
Fitness Equipment Needed You don't need a lot of equipment to do P90X.
Fitness bands are included that will take the place of free weights and pull up bars.
Of course weights and a pull up bar are preferred but you will get a great workout without these things.
The only other thing you need is yourself and your commitment to succeeding.
Muscle Confusion As you exercise you will alternate between different movements.
This is called muscle confusion and it is used to avoid plateauing in your routines.
Often people will stop growing and they plateau.
With muscle confusion you avoid this problem.
For example in the chest and back workout you change between back and chest exercises.
This keeps your muscles off balance and keeps all of them growing in strength without plateau.
You will go through variations in each movement through out the routine.
This targets particular areas.
Different kinds of pull ups, push ups throughout the workout to achieve the muscle confusion discussed above.
Rest in interspersed within the routines to increase their effectiveness.
Typically a 60 second break comes every 4 to 5 moves.
This break is also to allow you to hydrate.
These water breaks are important to allow you to catch up if you are not as fit as you might like.
Take advantage of them as they were designed in for that purpose.
