How to Disable the Local Machine in Regedit
- 1). Open your "Start" menu, either by clicking the Windows button on your taskbar or by pressing the Windows button on your keyboard.
- 2). Type "regedit" and press "Enter." Windows will prompt you to confirm that you want to open this window. Click "Yes," to proceed.
- 3). Click on the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE" folder, then double-click on the "(Default)" file that appears in the right-side box.
- 4). Enter "0" in the "Value data" box and click "OK" to disable everything within the directory.
