How to Make an Elmo Room

    • 1). Select a picture of Elmo from the Sesame Street website or from a coloring book. Make a copy of the picture on a transparency and project the picture of Elmo on to the wall of the room. Trace the image with a pencil.

    • 2). Paint the image onto the wall using a 1-inch paintbrush and acrylic paints. Allow it to dry overnight.

    • 3). Place Elmo-themed bed sheets and a comforter on the bed. Add throw pillows in the shape of Elmo as well as one or two Elmo plush toys.

    • 4). Add curtains and a rug that are in Elmo's designated colors: cherry red and orange, the colors of his fur and nose, respectively.

    • 5). Display all your child's Elmo toys on the shelves. Add a goldfish bowl and pet orange goldfish, emulating Elmo's goldfish Dorothy.

    • 6). Order a photograph of the puppeteer of Elmo, Kevin Clash, with Elmo next to him. Frame the photograph and hang it on the wall to give your child a sense of the history and back story behind Elmo.
