How to Clean Soap Scum & Lime Build-Up on Hot Tub Impellers
- 1). Pour 1/4 cup dishwasher detergent powder and 1/2 cup bleach into the hot tub while the jets are running at full speed.
- 2). Let the detergent and bleach combination work its way through the impellers and jets for 15 minutes. The detergent breaks up all of the soap scum, and the bleach dissolves the lime.
- 3). Drain the hot tub, and refill the tub with hot water.
- 4). Turn on the jets again, and let them run for 15 more minutes. Drain the hot tub once more to get rid of any leftover residue.
- 5). Repeat once per month, or as needed to keep buildup at a minimum.
