Yamdrok Lake, also known as "Yamdrok Yumtso", is one of Tibet's sacred lakes. It is enclosed by snow-capped hills and fed by several small Himalayan sources. The water is the primary water source for people in Lhasa, even entire Tibet.
The lake is situated at Nangartse county aside the road between Lhasa and Gyangtse, 110kms away from Lhasa. Travel China to explore. It is 130 miles in length and 70 miles in size, with an area of about 638 rectangle miles. It is quite strong as the average detail is around 20-40 metres and the inner point is almost 60 metres strong.

The beauty of the Lake
Weather you travel to Yamdrok from Lhasa or from Gyangtse, you always have to go up over Kampala Successfully pass ( over 5,000m ) where you will have a parrot's eye view of this awesome lake. The stream can be found several hundred metres below the pass. Under a clear climate, the lake looks like a fantastic colour of strong aqua blue.

There are extensive pastures in the nearby lake, so creatures and migrant parrots grow with energy. When the parrots come, the lake bank and the isles will the greatest addiction for migration parrots in southeast Tibet. Samding Monastery
The monastery is one of the six most popular Tibetan Buddhism monasteries and situated near the lake. Its greatest area is known as Guihuakan and the primary area is Lakhang Buddhist Hall. The artwork illustrating various Buddhist numbers are on the wall of the primary area. Each numbers operates many leads and hands, and has terrible looking which means that they are parents who prevent the monastery from being assaulted by opponents and wicked.
