- 1). Locate an Internet provider near you that offers gigabit service. If you live in a major city, you have a much better chance of finding a good provider that won't cost you a ton of money.
- 2). Schedule a technician from the provider to install gigabit Internet service in your home. This is usually mandatory, to ensure the connection is properly set up. The technician also will set up your gigabit Internet router.
- 3). Connect the Cat 5e cable to the back of the router. Connect the other end to your computer to receive the Internet connection.
