Offering both single player and multi player modes this game has provided up to 8 of us, all friends plenty of entertainment at the end of a hard working week, when we would all meet up to play Age Of Empires 4 Fun together.
This game is described as an epic real-time strategy game "and it really is".
It does not just have to be about war and fighting, this element can be easily missed by those not keen on war games and by the rising female gamers.
This is such a shame, as it is more than a game it is a childhood fantasy brought to life.
A little like many of the face book farming type games you can use Age Of Empires 4 Winding Down at the end of the day or week.
Offering options such as a Wonder Race to be the first to build one of the wonders of the world or a Game to search for and be the owner of all the Golden Relics, takes much of the war type nature of the game away.
In a normal game mode every player will start with a village for which you have to grow by building farms for food, gold and stone mines, woodcutter camps and you can also trade with other real live players in the game to grow your town.
You will have to create villagers to carry out the work with a maximum of 200 for any player and game.
For some this game will take a bit of getting used too as the game holds many elements to contend and think about when you are just starting out.
Hang in there and you will come to learn why this is such a great game.
Because there are very well thought out options for game play, there are many game types and options to suit your mood and your mind.
Using Age of Empires 4 winding down if you are new to the game, easy non aggressive modes of play are advised.
You will get the most possible enjoyment this way.
The in game music is pleasant to start unless you have heard it a thousand times, you can turn this off but I have to say it does hold still hold its relaxing appeal, and quite often you would not notice it there, unless you are a loud speaker player.
Because the game allows the user to set the pace of the game they can get quickly accustomed to the game interface.
Unlike like many brain dead games that require you to repeat the same basic task, in the game Age of Empires once you have learned the basics and play against friends you are only limited by your own imagination.

The easiest way for me to explain the reason I reckon Age of Empires has maintained its place in the shops is to tell a little story.

I remember as a small child the Soldier figures I used to have as toys not like the Modern day army but exactly like the soldiers in the game, on horses dressed in shining armour carrying swords and shields.
If I remember well these toy knight figures although small were actually quite heavy to handle.
My brother and I used to line them up to do battle a move of each piece depending on rank or platoon by the roll of the die.
We used to laugh as we talked about the pieces moving on their own accord, we never used to put theses toys down, the armour shining and the Knights colours were just too inviting, and to play at being kings well I am sure you can understand.
To have these toys brought to life in their full glory, with real life battle sounds, swords whooshing and clanking as they do battle, the hoofs of the knight's horses running underfoot, the cheers of the army and the joyful sounds of the villagers as they carry out your orders the sound of the bricks being laid as castles are built.
Childhood toys and dreams is what I believe a very big factor which keeps Age Of Empires 4 us in the shops today and one of the most amazing Games Ever To Be Made!
