Saved by His Sister

Abigail interrupted a tense moment between Daniel and JJ. JJ explained he was there to give Daniel money for the MP3 player and Parker's train that he broke. Then, he took off. Daniel handed Abigail, who was there to babysit, a list of telephone numbers, before taking off for his date with Jennifer.

JJ met Rory, and they discussed their cash woes. JJ got an idea and headed back to Daniel's apartment.

When he arrived, he asked Abigail for some money for a movie. Abigail asked what was going on between JJ and Daniel, earlier. JJ kept mum.

Abigail said she'd front JJ some cash, if he watched Parker for a moment. She had to check out something on Daniel's computer. JJ agreed, but was totally oblivious to the tyke. He put on an MP3 player and listened to music, as Parker ran around throwing his toy airplane. When it landed up on top of a wall unit, he called out to JJ, who didn't hear him. So Parker grabbed a chair and dragged it over the wall unit.

Checking on JJ

Adrienne stopped by the Horton house to see her nephew, JJ. Jennifer said he wasn't home, and they discussed her troubled son. Jennifer explained that he was having trouble handling Jack's death and admitted she wasn't sure how to handle him. Adrienne offered Jennifer support, assuring her that JJ would turn to her in time.

Soon, Daniel arrived for their date. Jennifer said she couldn't stay with him tonight or probably any night for a while.

Daniel assumed this was about JJ. “ He really needs me to be his mom right now, and I need to be there until he gets comfortable with the idea of the two of us,” said Jennifer. Daniel understood. “Our relationship isn't all sex, right?” said Daniel. “Speak for yourself,” replied Jennifer with a laugh.

A Father's Wrath

The pair headed off on their date, when Daniel realized he left his wallet at home. So they drove by his place, so he could pick it up. Daniel walked into his apartment to find Parker on a chair trying to reach his plane. As the chair started to tip, Daniel ran in and grabbed his son. Meanwhile, JJ listened to his music. Abigail came in and Daniel asked her to take Parker for a second. Then, he grabbed JJ and said,“If you ever put my son in danger again, I will tear you apart.”

Cut It Off!

Stefano met with Bernadi and delivered his plan for Rafe. "You want me to cut it off?" asked Bernardi. “Yes and it must be done tonight,” replied Stefano, handing him a blade. Bernardi headed to the hospital.

Taking Care of Gabi

Nick interrupted Will and Gabi's visit at the hospital. He wanted to go off with Gabi, so they could talk. Maxine walked in and told Gabi she had to sign Arianna's birth certificate, first. She obliged. Then, the duo headed to the hospital lounge.

Gabi said she wished Nick had opened up to her earlier. "I couldn't. It was too ugly," insisted Nick, admitting that a part of him still loved Gabi. Gabi explained that she wasn't going home with Nick. She needed to be smarter now that she had a daughter to take care of. Nick called Gabi “an incredible person” and handed her a bank book. “This account is for you and Arianna. Anything you need,” he said. The twosome hugged, and Nick left, while Gabi cried.

Protesting Too Much?

EJ listened as Kate confronted Sami about her feelings for Rafe. Sami insisted she was marrying EJ and in love with him. She and Rafe were over, and she didn't want to be with him. Kate accused Sami of wanting to be with all the men she'd ever had; especially the ones that she didn't have at the moment. “Rafe recognizes the sick game that you play, and he is done with you for good,” spat Kate. “He has moved on.” Kate stormed off, as Sami stewed. EJ watched all of it.

EJ joined Sami and noted she seemed “rattled.” Sami admitted it was Kate. Then, she went off to visit Will. Alone, EJ thought about the conversation he'd heard between Kate and Sami. Then, he went to Will's room, where Sami handed him baby Arianna. Sami left to make sure the birth certificate was filed properly.

Just a Fling

Later, at the coffeehouse, Sonny and Chad discussed Nick. Sonny said he might not be so bad after all. Kate arrived, muttering about Sami. Chad noted that Stefano was sitting behind her and asked Kate to bring an espresso over to him. Kate obliged and apologized to Stefano for accusing him of Rafe's attack. She told him her fling with Rafe was meaningless. Stefano noted that he'd moved on and that Kate should to. After Kate walked off, Stefano called Bernardi. “Is it done?” he asked. “I'm about to take care of that right now,” promised Bernardi.

Father to Father

Back at the hospital, EJ and Will discussed fatherhood. “So are you enthralled or terrified,” asked EJ. “Both at once,” admitted Will. The conversation turned to Rafe. Will noted that the doctors would be waking him up tomorrow. “Isn't that great?” asked Will. Sami returned. Then, she and EJ headed out, just as Sonny arrived to spend time with Will and the baby.

Zeroing in on Rafe

EJ and Sami waited for the elevator. Sami noted that EJ seemed quiet. EJ assured he was fine. Later, at the square, Sami rambled on about burying Kate. EJ noted that Sami really seemed to hate Kate more than ever of late. “Why is that?” he asked.

Back at the hospital, Bernardi lurked. Soon he approached Rafe's room. Then, he was standing at Rafe's bedside and pulling out the blade that Stefano had given him.
