How to Arrange Stargazer Lilies

    • 1). Cut the fresh stargazer lily stems with florists' scissors to achieve the desired length. Trim the stems at an angle, which will allow them to draw in water easier than flat-cut stems. Consider the height of the vase you intend to use when trimming the flowers; the blooms should stand 2 1/2 inches above the top of the vase for a decorative look.

    • 2). Line the vase with two or three large green leaves so when the arrangement is placed on a table, guests have something to look at other than stems. Use large leaves such as aspidistras. Place decorative pink glass gems in the bottom of the vase in place of the leaves if you prefer.

    • 3). Fill the vase with cool, clean water. Insert the stargazer lily stems into the vase.

    • 4). Accent the stargazer lily arrangement with a large tropical leaf stem, such as a montes terra, to add interest.
