To be a successful bluffer, you must use it sparingly.

You also wouldn't want to bluff against a flop like 6-8-9 suited, even with an A-K because there are too many possible combinations .
Against several of players.
There is a good chance someone will have something juicy and refuse to fold.
You are bringing the attention of the table to yourself, while they sneak up for the big kill unnoticed Against bad players.
Some bad players will just call everything.
They seem to assume that everyone is bluffing.
You can only really use it against these players if you have just stung them a few times.
After a really bad run.
Often on a bad run, you find yourself running on tilt, and chasing lost money.
Other players will expect it from you, and are more likely to call.

You need to assess the flop to check if the circumstances are right.
When high cards come out, most players assume you are on a weak hand.
They may expect a bluff, so be prepared to drop your hand.
