How to Make a Jack Skellington Bow Tie

    • 1). Find a picture of Jack Skellington. Look for a photo that shows the bow tie clearly.

    • 2). With the silver permanent marker, carefully draw the bat head outline on the black fun foam. Use one piece of foam for one wing, one piece for the other wing and the third piece for the head of the bat. Draw each wing along the 12-inch length of the foam and make the height of each about 4 1/2 to 5 inches. Make the head proportional to the wings by drawing a circular shape approximately 5 1/2 to 6 inches in diameter. It does not have to be perfectly circular.

    • 3). Carefully cut out the three parts of the bat. Overlap one wing on the other at the inner sides and then staple the two sections together.

    • 4). Measure the elastic cord around your neck and cut to fit. Make sure that the elastic will stretch enough to slip over your head easily.

    • 5). Staple the elastic into a loop. Staple the loop to the center of the two joined bat wings.

    • 6). Glue the head of the bat to the bat wings and allow drying for at least one hour or for the recommended time suggested by the glue's manufacturer.

    • 7). Slip the bow tie over your head and enjoy your costume.
