- 1). Water the worm bin until it is completely soaked through. The pot worms will try to avoid drowning by going to the surface of the bin.
- 2). Burn the surface of the worm bin using a butane torch. If you have successfully soaked the bedding through, you shouldn't have to worry about anything catching on fire. This will kill all pot worms that made it to the surface.
- 3). Prevent pot worm problems in the future by keeping the pH level no higher than 7 in your worm bin. Pot worms thrive in highly acidic conditions.
- 4). Use a pH testing kit to determine the pH level, and if it is higher than 7 you can sprinkle dolomite lime on the surface of the bedding to bring down the acidity.
