Ideas to Decorate a Bathroom That Is Painted With a Color Called Grass Cloth

    • Grass cloth paint--a light, yellow-tinged green--evokes a calm, earthy feel when used in a bathroom, similar to the effects achieved by its cousin, sage green. Decorate your bathroom in a way that accentuates the grass cloth color on your bathroom walls and brings in complementary colors that you find relaxing.

    Color Palettes

    • Use a light, neutral color to help ground the grass cloth hue, such as a light sandy beige. Beige will serve as your trim and ceiling color; also incorporate it into accessories. Light beige won't contrast with the grass cloth as sharply as a stark white will. A light gray hue would also work in addition to or instead of the beige. Bring in another complementary color through accessories to work with the grass cloth. Use a light aquatic blue to help create a contemporary style or beach feel. Reddish-browns, midnight blues and moss shades also keep to an earthy palette. Mix in mauve, light purple or other blues in the same tone as the grass cloth if you prefer.

    Walls

    • Introduce one of your accessory colors by using it to create a pattern on the walls. For example, paint circles, stripes, polka dots or another pattern on the wall with the brighter accent color in your palette. Or, paint the bottom half of your walls with the pattern and leave the top half solid. Another option is to paint the two-thirds of your wall grass cloth and the top one-third in another color from your palette.

    Accessories

    • Decorate the bathroom with accessories using grass cloth and your accent colors. For example, hang solid midnight blue bath towels with grass cloth-, beige- and midnight blue-striped hand towels. Hang pictures that pick up on all of your colors or paint the frames in one of your accent colors. Incorporate the colors in vases, candles or candle holders. Hang a patterned shower curtain or roll out bath rugs in a grass cloth hue or your favorite complementary color from your color palette. Each of your colors should be infused into the room in at least two or three places in accessories. Find at least one piece--such as a towel, rug, shower curtain or picture--that incorporates all of the colors in your color palette.
