• Drifting is a motorsport which requires drivers to use and control a high horsepower car as it makes its way sliding sideways through a marked course. Drifting is somewhat similar to rally racing, but differs in that it takes place on a closed off course. Also in contrast to rally racing, drivers are judged on their execution and style instead of who finishes the course with the best time. Nissan Drift Cars

• The Nissan Silvia RPS13, manufactured between 1989 and 1998, is one of the most popular cars amongst drifters. There are a number of modifications which can be made to the vehicle that provide it with an increased potential for success in drifting. Another popular Nissan car for drifting is the Skyline R33 GTS25T, which was manufactured between 1993 and 1998. The recommended engine to use with this model is a 250 horsepower 2.5 liter RB25DET. There are a number of tuning products available for this model, and it can be easily found for a reasonable price.
  
  

Honda Drift Cars

• Honda has very few cars that are optimum for drifting; however, the S2000 model that began being manufactured in 2000 is a viable option. The car has a precise 50:50 weight distribution which allows for neutral driving. Many drifters prefer the weight distribution to be slightly off for drifting and modify the S2000 to accomplish that. The only other driftable car manufactured by Honda is the NSX, which was made from 1990 until 2005. The car is quite fast with earlier versions featuring 270 horsepower, and models made in 1997 going forward featuring 291 horsepower. The combination of good balance mixed with the rear-engine makes a car that is capable of drifting.
  
  

BMW Drift Cars

• All BMWs are capable of drifting, because they are all rear wheel drive. The most popular BMWs to drift are the 3-series models. The car was designed with performance in mind, and drifting is no exception. Nearly all models made throughout all years the 3-series has been manufactured make a top of the line drifting car, but the best drifters are lightweight without luxury trim. The BMW 5-series models also make for a great drifting car, but they are far from the best. This is directly due to their weight, making them hard to drift without sufficient power backing it.
