Some people care passionately about the environment while others could care less.
For those that are in the caring camp they may be interested to know what sort of heaters have a greater and lesser fuel consumption.
Electrical space heaters are one option that can provide additional heating to a room or area but depending upon the type that you use may take greater or lesser amounts of electricity to keep you warm.
For example convection heaters which are heaters that contain a fan that blows warm air around the room as well as halogen heaters are great at providing instant warmth.
However when used for a long time, these types of electrical appliances can actually be quite energy intensive.
That said, they do pump out a lot of heat so this is only to be expected.
On the other hand, there are portable electrical heaters called oil filled radiators that do not have the same warming capacity as the previously mentioned machines.
This is because they do not warm up as quickly nor pump out quite the same amount of heat.
However they have features that the first two kinds of heaters do not have that can make them attractive options for home heating.
The benefits of oil filled radiators include retaining their warmth for a longer time even after they have been turned off.
This means that having them turned on for a shorter period of time is possible.
It must be remembered that they do not warm the room to the same temperature when only turned on for shorter periods but they will continue to warm even after the appliance is turned off.
Also if both styles of heaters are used for the same length of time they will use the same amount of electricity but it will be the oil heater that continues to warm the room after it has been turned off.
This is what makes them good options for environmentalists.
