For-In Hand Knot

• The for-in hand knot is the most popular way to tying a tie, with about 80 percent of tie wearers utilizing this style. In this style, the knot is long and straight, but it it also veers slightly to the side. This knot is a go-to for every occasion, including weddings, business meetings or for a nice night out on the town. Windsor Knot

• The windsor knot is a wide knot in the form of a triangle. Because the knot is wide, you have to wear a shirt with a wide spread collar or the knot will be too large for your shirt. This style is commonly worn to formal occasions like weddings, corporate events, charitable balls and galas. • The half-windsor knot is similar to the windsor knot. The different being that this triangular-shaped knot is smaller than the traditional windsor. This makes this knot easier to pair with your shirts because you do not need a wider collar, it is compatible with all collared shirts. • The pratt/shelby knot is a medium-width knot. When you begin to tie this knot, the tie is turned outward, unlike any of the other knot options presented. This knot is appropriate for all occasions and can transfer easily from everyday wear to formal events. This is a versatile knot that can be used with any width of collar and any width of tie as well.
