How to Decorate With Horseshoes
Instructions
1Clean and paint your horseshoes. If horseshoes have been used, clean them up. Wash all dirt, mud and dust off of them. If your horseshoes are rusty, you may want to sand the rust off. Paint them for a cleaner, updated look. However, if you're going for a truly rustic theme, leaving the horseshoes rusty or unpainted would be an option.
2
Hang a horseshoe above the door. It's said to be good luck to hang a horseshoe above the door, and it's also great decorating for a rustic look.
3
Use horsehoes in the kitchen. Use a horseshoe as a pantry door handle. Cut horseshoes in half, and use them as drawer pulls and cabinet handles. Make a paper towel or dishtowel rack with two horseshoes and a wooden dowel. Hang horseshoes up on the wall. Use two or three to make a mail shelf to hang on the wall.
4
Decorate your bathroom with horseshoes. Again, cut the horseshoes in half and use them as drawer pulls or cabinet handles. Weld horseshoes onto a base and put them with a votive or other glass candle holder for a unique lighting option. Attach them to your light fixtures for decoration. Use them as tie-back holders for your shower curtain. Use them to make a towel rack or robe hook. Use them on the ends of your shower curtain rod for extra decoration.
5
Add them to the decor in your living room. They can be welded together to make the stand for a lamp. Weld them together to make a magazine rack. Find an old picture or mirror frame and attach a horseshoe to it for decoration. Use horseshoes as bookends.
